His name is Abdul Karim son of Elias. He changed his father's name to Alaka out of respect and love. He was a pious man. He followed the religion of his ancestors who were Christians He worked in Iraqi Kurdistan and Iran. He was entrusted with the Ministry of Finance in the government of the late Sheikh. He was a very intelligent and understanding man.
This philanthropist cooked food in a large pot every evening and distributed it to the poor. When the British looted the sheikh's house, he reached out to the sheikhs' houses and helped them a lot.
The only houses that did not leave the city during the bombing of Sulaimani were the houses of Haji Ibrahim Agha and Karim Alaka. In addition to Chaldean, he was fluent in Kurdish, Persian and Arabic.
He spent the last years of his life in Baghdad and died in 1948 and was buried in the Catholic cemetery in Baghdad.
